Robinson, Marilyn Elaine, age 82, of Greenville Brethren Retirement Community, formerly of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Brethren Home.
She was born on May 2, 1942, in Darke County to the late Francis and Ruby (Hangen) Black. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Paul Robinson.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Douglas & Rhonda (Smith) Robinson of Arcanum, Ohio, Kevin Robinson of Vandalia, Ohio; brother, James & Becky (Heckert) Black of Arcanum, Ohio; grandchildren, Rusty (Brook) Chrisman and Mattie (Ryan) Walls; great-grandchildren, River Leigh, Ryleigh Jean, Braxton Lewis, and Braylee Lynn Chrisman; many cousins.
She’s a 1960 graduate of Arcanum High School and attended Ohio State University one year before getting married. Marilyn was very athletic in her younger years playing softball, bowling, boating, and skiing. In addition to loving her kids she enjoyed camping and playing cards. Marilyn worked at numerous jobs throughout her life. She was a woman of faith and a member of Gordon United Methodist Church. A member of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron multiple times among other Star Points and duties. She was also active in the United Methodist Women’s group for several years.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27 at KREITZER FUNERAL HOME, ARCANUM. The visitation will be followed by Eastern Star services and funeral services. Interment will follow services at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Everheart Hospice Care Center of Darke County or the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio.
