Marlene J. Livingston, 89, of Union City, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Oakley Place in Greenville, Ohio.
She was born on March 29, 1934, in Union City, Ohio, to the late Alva and Nina (Welch) Weiss.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Livingston, whom she married on December 27, 1955; and her son, Gregg Livingston.
Marlene was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at Mississinawa Valley Schools as a cook for over 30 years until she retired. Marlene was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Union City, Indiana, where she was active in the church choir. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and spoiling her granddaughters. Marlene also enjoyed going camping and attending the Great Darke County Fair each year.
Marlene is survived by her son, Steven (Karen) Livingston of Union City, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Carla Otte of North Star, Ohio, her granddaughters, Christine (Brad) Strausbaugh of Versailles, Ohio, Kelley (Kenneth) Gower of Union City, Ohio, Ashly (Josh) Shellhaas of Union City, Ohio, and Tasha (Luke) Rosengarten of Greenville, Ohio; her 9 great grandchildren; and her sister, Jeanette (Richard) Detling of Union City, Ohio.
A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1470 W. State Route 28, Union City, Indiana, with Mr. Monte Poling officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Marlene’s family on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM at the church.
