Mary Goehrich, 70 of Gettysburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday December 10, 2021 at 6:42 AM at her residence. She was born April 28, 1951 in San Pedro, California, the daughter of the late Everett and Helen (Duke) Slayton. She was a Nurse’s Aide; she worked at Eikenberrys as a cashier and worked for and retired from Greenville City Schools.
Mary grew up in Dayton and graduated from Meadowdale High School; she was a social butterfly; she loved cats; crocheting, crafts, and antiquing.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Michael and Patrick Slayton, and her sister in law: Linda Boltin.
Mary is survived by her husband of 53 and a half years Alfred Goehrich whom she married April 6, 1968; her sons: Eric and Jenine Goehrich, Adam Goehrich; her grandchildren: Dylan (Lauren) Goehrich, Lauryn (Chad Logan) Wilson, Chelsea Roth; great granddaughter: Jayde Goehrich; her brother: Dennis Slayton; her sister: Lynn (John) Dunn; her mother in law: Lidia Goehrich; her sister in law: Lily (mark) Lewis; her brother in law: Robert Goehrich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday December 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 15, 2021 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or the Cancer Association of Darke County.
