Maxine Rhotehamel age 89, of Greenville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Maxine was born September 18, 1935, in Rossburg to the late Palmer Wilson & Dorothy Elizabeth (Turner) Boyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bernard, who was the love of her life; son-in-law, Gregg Blumenstock; great grandsons, Blake Blumenstock and Austin Waymire; brother, Leonard Boyd; and brother-in-law, Jim Erwin.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Steve) Waymire of Ansonia and Connie Blumenstock of Greenville; son, Larry Rhotehamel of Troy; grandchildren, Eric (Kim) Blumenstock of Greenville, Todd (Sherry) Waymire of Wayne Lakes, and Mike (Jennifer) Waymire of Arcanum; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Connie) Boyd of Greenville; sisters, Phyllis (Buford) Bolin of Piqua and Norma Erwin of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was a 1953 graduate of Ansonia High School. She loved her family and often said the years she spent raising her children were the best years of her life. Maxine enjoyed working side by side with her late husband, Bernard in the fields. Maxine could often be found out on the lawn mower or pulling weeds out of her garden. In later years, Maxine became an avid reader and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Cavaliers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Nick Good officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or EUM Church.
