Miriam A. Poling age 91, of Versailles passed away at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
Miriam was born September 9, 1933, in Versailles to the late Claude and Norma (Routson) Rhoades. In addition to her parents, Miriam was also preceded in death by her husband Ronnie C. Poling, older brothers and sisters; Virginia and Robert Thomas, Robert and Dorothy Rhoades, Lois and Wayne Roll, Paul and Marcia Rhoades, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Janet Poling and brother-in-law Gary Poling; mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Lloyd Poling.
Miriam married the love of her life, Ronnie on November 29, 1952. Together they had 3 children Terry L. and Kathy (Berger) Poling of Weaverville NC, Rhonda K. Poling and companion Steve Bey of Versailles OH, Nancy R. and Eric Erwin of South Lyon MI. Grandchildren Trisha and Joe Egan of Huntington Woods MI, Kristopher Poling and fiancé Caroline Papin of White River Junction VT, Kayla Erwin of South Lyon MI and Luke Erwin of South Lyon MI; great granddaughter Annie, great grandsons Wesley and Connor Egan of Huntington Woods MI. Sister-in-law Carolyn Poling of Versailles and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with being a homemaker, Miriam worked at the Versailles Post Office and Elder-Beerman in Piqua. Miriam was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also spent many years serving on the Versailles Life Squad and was formally active in Versailles Town and Country Players. Miriam loved spending time with her family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 204 East Wood Street in Versailles with Pastor Ippy Mwakabonga officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4 from 4-8 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles and Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the church.
