DAYTON, Ohio – Support the summer blood supply during the critical July 4th holiday period and get a chance to “Pick Your Prize” when you donate at the 14th annual Mississinawa Valley vs. Ansonia High School FFA “Grudge Match Blood Drive” Tuesday, June 27 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mississinawa Valley High School, 10180 Staudt Road, Union City.
Make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com, call (937) 461-3220, or use the Donor Time app.
The goal of the Grudge Match is to boost the blood supply during the summer months when there are no high school blood drives. The club with the most donor votes gets to keep the Grudge Match trophy through the school year. Mississinawa’ s victory last year tied the series at 6-6-1.
Everyone who registers to donate receives the “Sunshine & Saving Lives” beach towel and is automatically entered in the June 19-July 1 weekly “Pick Your Prize” drawings to win the choice of a YETI Roadie 60 cooler, Ascend kayak, or a Blackstone grill.
CBC is in critical need of multiple blood types. Both experienced donors and new donors are needed to address the current shortages and to build a crucial reserve for the July 4th holiday period.
You can save time while helping save lives by using “DonorXPress” to complete the donor questionnaire before arriving at a blood drive. Find DonorXPress on the Donor Time App or at www.givingblood.org/donorxpress.
Blood donation requirements: Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at the Dayton CBC and mobile blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds (you may have to weigh more depending on your height), and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Individuals with eligibility questions can email canidonate@cbccts.org or call (937) 461-3220. Make an appointment at www.DonorTime.com.
