Neil Elden Shearer, age 94 of Greenville, Ohio died November 11, 2023 at 2:23 AM.
Neil was born July 17, 1929 to the late Charles Kenneth Shearer and Dorothy (Brown) Shearer. Also preceding him in death is a brother Doyle E. Shearer (wife Gloria) and a sister in infancy.
Neil graduated from Bradford High School in 1947, from Ohio Northern University (cum laude) in 1951 and immediately went into the United States Army, serving 2 years in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.
Neil taught school in the Shelby County School System at Fairlawn for a number of years and retired from Allied Services in Clayton after nearly 30 years of service.
Neil is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan C. (Henry) Shearer whom he married June 30, 1956.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with Fr. Matt Feist officiating. Fond memories may be shared at www.zecharbailey.com for the Shearer Family.
