Benefits.gov introduced two new ways to connect you with government benefits and resources. The Life Events and Browse by State search functions now make it easier to find resources based on either current events and milestones in your life, or by location. Find out more about these new site features and try them for yourself!
Life Events
The Life Events feature, located below the Benefit Finder on the Benefits.gov homepage, can connect you with relevant government resources based on eight specific milestones or events in your life. These life events include having a child, divorce, retirement, and several others. Whether you are a new parent seeking family services or a Veteran beginning the transition to civilian life, the Life Events feature will quickly connect you with the benefits and services most relevant to your situation.

Browse by State
Benefits.gov offers connections not only to federal government resources, but also to state and local benefits. Many programs, including Unemployment Insurance, Medicaid, and SNAP, are often joint state and federal initiatives. The new Browse by State feature allows you to search for relevant benefits available in your state, territory, or providence.
