Covington takes Varsity Cheer honors; top
overall score
Tri-Village places in four events; Greenville, Arcanum & Ansonia
place in 3 each
GREENVILLE – Covington Varsity Cheer took first place in the final
event, compiling enough points to take the top overall score of the
Great Darke County Fair Cheerleading Competition Friday.
The multiple event winners were spread out among several school
districts, including Tri-Village, Greenville, Arcanum, Ansonia, Piqua,
UC Stateliners, Mississinawa Valley, Franklin Monroe and Marion Local.
Leaving empty-handed were Darke County Elite and Versailles, each of
whom only participated in two events.
In the Pee Wee Cheer event, Tri-Village Youth placed first, followed by
Greenville and Piqua.
In Pee Wee Dance, UC Stateliners placed first, followed by Tri-Village
Youth Dance and Arcanum.
In Junior High Individual, there were two entries: Mekedes Butsch,
Tri-Village, placed first, followed by Alivia Ellis of Arcanum.
High School Individual had one entry; the trophy was awarded to Cameron
Clark of Greenville.
In Junior High Dance, Ansonia took first place, followed by
Mississinawa Valley and Franklin Monroe.
In Junior High Cheer, Tri-Village took first, followed by Greenville
and Ansonia.
In Varsity Dance, Tri-Village took first, followed by Arcanum and
Ansonia.
In the final event, Varsity Cheer, Covington took first place honors,
followed by Piqua and Marion Local.
