Norman L. Long, age 87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Ayden Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born on April 11, 1937, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Xenia (Batten) Long.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronald (Beulah) Long and Richard Long; and his sister-in-law, Anne Long.
Norman is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Joyce (Fisher) Long; his children, Todd (Darlene) Long of Union City, Indiana, Jami Oda of Greenville, Eric Long of Greenville, and Amy Sampier of Springboro, Ohio; his 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and his brother, Joyce Long.
Norman was a 1955 graduate of Greenville High School. He spent a majority of his life as a truck driver, retiring after 35 years in 1998 from ABF trucking. In his free time, Norman enjoyed going golfing, riding his motorcycle, doing yard work, washing his cars, and going line dancing with his wife. Norman also attended EUM church in Greenville.
An open-house style celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
