NEW MADISON-It didn’t take long for Tri-Village to show its dominance Friday, blasting Tri-County North, 85-20.
Tri-Village actually trailed 2-0 after the Panthers scored off the opening tip.
After that, the Patriots rolled.
Tri-Village dropped eight three pointers in the opening quarter and with eight minutes in the books, it was all over but the crying.
Tri-Village led 56-10 at the break and 75-16 after three.
“I thought our kids played really hard,” said Patriots coach Josh Sagester. “This was only our second game of the season. We got a big win in our first game (90-17 over Mississinawa Valley) and we need to keep it going.”
All together, the Patriots dropped 11 dimes on the Panthers.
In addition, the Pats put two in double figures led by seniod Braden Keating within while sophomore Trey Sagester dumped in another 22 in support.
Between the two, they accounted for 10 of the 11 treys.
On defense, the Patriots controlled the Panthers forcing multiple turnovers and turning them into points.
“We put a lot of pride on our defense,” Sagester pointed out. “Reid Wehr is our defensive catalyst. He makes things happen. As we all know, he’s a very physical player and he likes creating havoc on defense.”
The Patriots had a very tough game Saturday at home with Talawanda and will be back in action Tuesday at Newton.
