Paul D. Parmenter

Paul D. Parmenter age 83, of Vandalia and formerly of Versailles passed away at 6:34 AM on Monday, September 20, 2021, at SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City.

Paul was born August 31, 1938, in Versailles to the late William M. & Rose M. (Schulze) Parmenter. In addition to his parents, Paul is also preceded in death by a son, Anthony Parmenter; brothers, Joseph & Charles Parmenter; and sisters, Evelyn Grillot and Mary Leugers.

Paul is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Karen A. (Wion) Parmenter whom he married November 14, 1959; children, Paula & Jeffrey Allen of Arcanum, Lisa & Christopher Rismiller of Vandalia, Lt. Col. Randal & Patti Parmenter of Tipp City, Stacy & Michael Muhlenkamp of New Carlisle, William & Elizabeth Parmenter of Beavercreek and Douglas Parmenter & fiancée, Theresa Gibson of Centerville; special daughter-in-law, Bethany Bice of Lakeview; grandchildren, Brett Rismiller, Kyle Rismiller, Jessica & Josh Stone, Taylor Allen, Brooke Allen, Kevin & Ashley Muhlenkamp, Jordan Muhlenkamp, Abigail & Ryan Lynch, Daniel Parmenter, Garrett & Sara Wert, Jayden Parmenter, Keegan Parmenter and Taylor Zehringer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul worked at Weaver Bros. in Versailles for 19 years and retired in 2001 from Clopay in Russia with 29 years of service. Paul was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, Montgomery County Senior Citizens and was a Golden Eagle member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2347 in Versailles.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Duell. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. The Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold a Lodge of Sorrow Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan County Cancer Society 205 East Palmer Rd.
