Phillip “Phil” L. Hathaway, 78, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 in Dayton, Ohio.
Phil was born on July 10, 1942, in Greenville, to the late Leonard and Jennie (Petry) Hathaway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tom Hathaway; and his sisters, Joan Whitely and Carolyn Brinley.
Phil is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judie (Cole) Hathaway, whom he married on March 17, 1965; his son Robert Hathaway; his grandchildren, Dustin Hathaway, Derek Hathaway and his wife, Laura, Dylan Hathaway, Demi Hathaway, Dani Hathaway, Kylie Hathaway, Eli Hathaway, Madison Hathaway, and Micheal Holdeman; his great grandchildren, Mayleigh Heckman, Roman Warner, and Elijah Holdeman. Phil also leaves behind his “furry friends”, Behr and Kona.
Phil was a devoted husband and loved his family. His priority was his grandchildren, who all knew how much they were loved. Phil and his wife, Judie, enjoyed camping and traveling. A favorite spot was Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Phil was creative especially in the art of woodworking. He and Judie would sell creations at local craft shows. Phil was a former member of the Annie Oakley Committee. Phil was previously employed by NATCO and Plastic Machine Technology in Richmond, Indiana. Phil was, according to his grandchildren, quite the “card shark”. He will be remembered as one who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Phil was considered a hero by his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by many.
