Popular Murder in the Stacks program returns for another year

GREENVILLE – On Friday, November 1, Greenville Public Library will host our annual Murder in the Stacks event with a new twist!

Beginning at 6 p.m., this year’s event, Murder in the Stacks: Scavengers, will feature something for all ages! Three separate, yet simultaneous, scavenger hunts for littles, middles, and adults will ensure that no one gets left out of the fun. Each scavenger hunt has a different level of difficulty, but any age can complete in any or all of the hunts… IF they’re up for the challenge. Also new this year, everyone participating will get a prize once the mystery is solved.

For the adult hunt, investigators will have their work cut out for them! One of our three favorite library villainesses, Dr. Orchid, Ms. Peacock, or Miss Scarlet, has kidnapped the Director and is holding her for ransom. Investigators will have to follow a trail of clues, completing tasks and solving puzzles, to catch the kidnapper before the event ends at 8 p.m.

The other two hunts will have junior investigators scouring the library for a list of hidden items to decode a secret message. Once all of the items are found and the message deciphered, they can exchange the information for a prize!

As always, the event is completely free! Compete individually or as a group… everyone is welcome!
