After serving his country in the Army during Vietnam, Larry began his business career in 1970 at Phelan Insurance Agency, eventually becoming a partner. In 1992 he left the insurance industry and started his own investment business, Prenger Financial Services. He earned his designation as a licensed investment advisor and served the community and surrounding areas until his retirement in December 2018. Prenger Financial Services was purchased by 2 longtime employees of Larry and is still in operation in Versailles. Currently, Larry is a driver for Catholic Social Services where he enjoys putting his people skills to work.

Diane was the developer of Phases I, II & III of Heritage Park Estates. For 35 years, Diane volunteered as a caretaker and support resource to a local mother and her adult son. They became family to Larry & Diane until their passing. When her children were young, she served as advisor for both the Cub Scouts & Girl Scouts. Most importantly, Diane was (and still is) President & CEO of the Prenger Household, the most important job of all!

Larry is a member of the Versailles Eagles, Versailles VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the 3/5 Cavalry Memorial Park at Ft Benning Georgia. Larry was also Past Commander of the Osgood American Legion, served on St Denis Church Council, Versailles Swimming Pool Board, Darke County MRDD Board, Darke County Chamber of Commerce, Wayne Hospital Board Member, Versailles Athletic Boosters and the Versailles Chamber of Commerce (VDA) also being named Citizen of the Year. He served as President on many of these boards. During his time on the board at the Darke County YMCA, he became co-chair of the Versailles YMCA building committee. Without the cooperation & patience of Diane, none of this would have been possible.

The Prenger’s most favorite times are spent with their children and grandkids. They enjoy playing cards & games with friends (Dianes card club has been playing for over 50 years), traveling & following their beloved Versailles Tigers. Winters in Florida making new friends are special times too.

Larry & Diane want to recognize and give a heartfelt thank you to all of the past and present Poultry Days Board Members for their thousands of hours of work over the last 74 years. Both the festival and Heritage Park, which is supported by Poultry Days, are huge assets to this community. The Prengers ask that when you see a Poultry Days committee member or Heritage Park Board Member, give them a thank you for all they do for our special community.
