Prairie Days offers entertainment for all

Prairie Days is set to take place September 25th and 26th and you don’t want to miss all of the entertainment being offered! Step back in time and walk through the encampment, speak with the historical interpreters, and witness Tomahawk Throwing.

Join in the Best Beard competition, Sack Races, and more during the first ever Pioneer Olympics (Sat and Sun). You can also visit with DCP’s raptor ambassadors during Birds Under the Buckeye (Sat and Sun).

The stage will be busy all weekend long with performances by the Civic Theater (Sat 11:30am, 1:45pm and Sun 12:45pm), The Silvergrass Band (Sat 3:30pm), and The Drab Irish Band (Sun 3:00pm).

The annual pie baking contest will also take place. Pies must be entered between 9:30-10:00am in the nature center classroom on Saturday and the award ceremony will take place on the stage at 1pm.

There will also be a basket raffle drawing sponsored by the Friends of the Parks on Sunday at 4:30pm. Stop by the nature center to check out the baskets available and enter the raffle.
