OneOhio Recovery Region 15 Board members,
We have learned a lot about the grant application and distribution process from the OneOhio Recovery State Foundation Board in the last week or so. Mainly about who may (and who may not) participate in our Region 15 grant review process. It seems that we have a consensus that each of our 9 counties will have 1 vote when recommending which grants should be awarded by the State Foundation Board. But how we go about doing that is in need of discussion. Therefore, we are scheduling a OneOhio Recovery Region 15 meeting for Monday May 6 so that we may work together to figure this out.
Here is a quick narrative that will prepare you for our May 6 meeting:
Considering everything that must be accomplished prior to evaluation and scoring of our regional requests for funding, and after conferring with the OneOhio State Foundation staff yesterday, the Executive Committee has decided it is extremely important to have the Region 15 Board meet on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Shelby County Ag Service Center – 810 Fair Rd., Sidney, OH. The State Foundation is hoping to have the portal open to us for the grant review process by mid-May, but there is much for our Board to determine and certify prior to that date.
Two days ago (on 4/16 via email) you should have received the Quick Guides from the OneOhio State Foundation on “Avoiding Conflicts of Interest” and the “Regional Grant Review Process”. These two documents should provide you with an understanding of the things that we as Regional Board members need to quickly accomplish in the next few weeks. I can’t stress enough our individual responsibility to meet the requirements of the State Foundation and be ready to evaluate and score the applications.
It is also important in this equation for us to immediately understand who among the 27 of us are ineligible to participate in the scoring process. Therefore I am asking each of you, as soon as possible, to report to me regarding whether or not you are an active participant in any grant that will be considered by our Region 15 Board.
Additionally, please register with me your ability to attend the Monday May 6 meeting. Our Monday June 3 meeting should also remain on your calendar.
