Regina M. Fischer

Regina M. Fischer age 86, of Ansonia passed away at 11:38 am Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Versailles Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

Regina was born August 8, 1935, in Shelby County to the late John & Caroline (Kuether) Albers. Regina was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Fischer on May 27, 2020, whom she married August 5, 1967; and siblings & in-laws, Rita & Robert Hilgefort, Rose & Alfred Gehret, Thecla & David Heitkamp, Cyril Bills, Connie Albers, Fred Winner, Ralph Fischer, Richard Fischer, Carl Fischer, and Mary Catherine & Herbert Dirksen.

Regina is survived by her children, John & Amanda Fischer of Ansonia, Kenneth & Mary Fischer of Greenville, Nancy & Mitchell Sheets of Concord, North Carolina, Mary & Bob Eichler of Rockford, Linda Fischer of Greenville and Joan & Terry Thwaits of Osgood; 13 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; siblings & in-laws, Aloys Albers, Vernon Albers, Joanne Bills, Henry & Bernice Albers, Marvin & Rosie Albers, Mary Winner, John & Sherri Albers, Teresa Albers, Leonard & Lou Ann Albers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Regina was a 1952 graduate of Precious Blood High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She was a homemaker, farm wife and former educator. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and St. Anne Sodality. Regina developed and taught the Jesus’s Helpers religious instruction class for mentally handicapped children. Regina was a former CCD Teacher, former member of the Darke County Board of MRDD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
