Richard D. “Rick” Reier age 70, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia passed away at 12:54 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Kettering Hospital.
Rick was born September 7, 1951, in Greenville to the late Hubert & Freda (Beam) Reier. In addition to his parents, Rick was also preceded in death by a brother, Ron Reier; and a brother-in-law, Steve Fourman.
Rick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlene (Fourman) Reier whom he married May 27, 1972; children, Teresa Neal of Ansonia, Crystal Reier Gibbs of Ansonia and Ricky & Courtney Reier of Colorado; grandchildren, Brooke Neal, Tyler Neal, Dani Gibbs, Gage Gibbs, Aiden Reier and Sedona Reier; brothers, Steve Reier of Ansonia, Mike Reier of Ansonia, Phil Reier of Greenville and Perry Reier of Fostoria; sisters, Kathy Alspaugh of Greenville, Sheila Bradburn of Greenville, Kristy Damewood of Union City, Ohio and Missy Alspaugh of Greenville; in-laws, Carlene Lee of Troy, Georgette Smith of Versailles and Helen Williams of Saratoga, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick owned and operated Reier’s Auto Service for over 50 years. He was an avid builder of hot rods, loved burning rubber and watching NASCAR races. Rick loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mark Ridgeway officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Rick’s memory to the Ansonia Youth League.
