Richard (Dick) O’Brien, age 76 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Wednesday December 8, 2021 at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Dick was born February 12, 1945 in Lancaster, PA. He was adopted by the late Floyd and Onda O’Brien in 1950.
Dick retired in 2002 from the Local Union 82, IBEW where he had been an electrician and part owner of QOB Electric. He then went on to be the manager of the Greenville Union Cemetery, retiring from that position in December 2019. He was a member and elder of the Greenville EUM Church.
Dick is survived by his wife Jana (Mason) O’Brien and they were married January 21, 1967 by Rev. John McRoberts. Also survived by his daughters Julie (Darren) Hicks of Columbus, Ohio and Emily (Bill) Kautz of Grove City, Ohio as well as grandchildren William and Olivia Kautz.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday February 12, 2022 in the EUM Church Worship Center 1451 Sater Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastors Jeff Harper, Virgil Hawkins, Bill Lyle and John McRoberts officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of the Celebration of Life service in the church.
Masks will be required to attend the visitation and celebration of life service.
