Richard L. Seman, 77, of Covington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1947 in Greenville, to the late Roy and Betty (Cox) Seman. He married Colleen R. (Spencer) Seman on December 28, 1966; she preceded him in death on July 21, 2024.
He will be missed and remembered by his children, Ronda (John) Pritchard of Covington and Rick (Tina) Seman of Troy. Grandpa will be missed by his grandchildren, Lauren (Cynthia) Seman, Hannah Pritchard, Sam (Shannon) Pritchard; and great-grandsons Christian Seman and Otis Pritchard. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Jr. “Butch” Seman.
Richard grew up in Versailles and was a 1965 graduate of Versailles High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, seeing combat in Vietnam and earning the Purple Heart. He retired from Hartzell Fan of Piqua after more than 40 years of service as a CNC machinist. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Chaplain Ric Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m-1 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter.
