Robert “Bob” L. Smith age 95 died February 12, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital Columbus Ohio. He was born August 27, 1926, to the late Alva L. and Mary (Alexander) Smith in Middletown, Ohio. Bob was also preceded in death by wife, Helen (Good) (2002) and son, Gary (1962).
Bob graduated Greenville High School in 1944. He served in the US Navy from 1944 to1946 He started driving milk truck for Westerville Creamery at 15. He farmed and worked for United Telephone for 13 years.
Bob is survived by his daughter Mary and husband Lew Crowell, his brother Dick Smith and wife Bessie, brother-in-law Robert Good and wife Linda, grandsons Nathan, Adam wife Judy Crowell, and Jared. He had great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He loved fishing, eating out and visiting with friends and family. Bob attended Abbottsville United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Bob’s nephew Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
