OCTOBER 1, 1944 – JANUARY 20, 2024
Robert “Bob” William Baldwin Robinson passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 79, at his home in Greenville Ohio, at 3:35PM. Bob was a beloved teacher, dedicated reader, computer enthusiast, and passionate advocate for children’s education.
Born on October 1st, 1944 in Saint Louis, Missouri, Bob was born to Margett (Swatek) and William Baldwin, and later became the adopted son of John Robinson after William’s passing. After graduating from high school, Bob graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in communications. He started his own business in California, before moving to Michigan. From there he started his life in Darke County, Ohio, briefly working other jobs until he landed at the Daily Advocate. He spent numerous years teaching at Edison State Community College as well as substitute teaching at Greenville Elementary, where he touched the lives of countless students with his passion for learning.
Bob is preceded in death by his Parents, Son, Scott Robinson, Sister, Melinda Martin, Stepdaughter, Debbie Waddell and previous Wife, Jean Robinson.
Bob is survived by Wife, Susan (Enicks) Robinson, His Son, Robert Robinson. His Stepson, Shawn Enicks. His Stepson, Steve Lloyd. His Stepdaughter, Cathy Watson. His Sister, Kim Brady and his Grandchildren, Matt Robinson, Michael Robinson, Monica Robinson, Mark Robinson, Bella Enicks, and Landyon Cremenas. Bob also leaving behind several Nieces and Nephews.
Bob’s passion for reading extended beyond the classroom as he spent countless hours exploring different genres and expanding his knowledge. He was also an avid computer user and enjoyed staying up to date with the latest technology. Bob’s dedication to helping children went beyond the classroom as he started a local organizations that focused on improving children’s education called Empowering Youth. He was also a member of the VFW.
One of Bob’s proudest achievements was the publication of his book, “God Don’t Make Junk” in July 2008. Inspired by his life, experiences, and years of teaching. Darke County was his true home, he referenced it in his book as being “God’s County”.
Bob will be remembered for his kind and caring nature, his infectious smile, and his unwavering dedication to his students. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and education that will continue to live on through the lives of those he has touched.
At Bob’s request, there will be no services to attend, but in lew of flowers, donations may be made to Day City Hospice. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable teacher, let us also celebrate the life of a man who made a difference in the lives of so many. Bob may no longer be with us, but his spirit and impact will live on forever. You will be deeply missed.
