Ronald Dean Richardson, 86, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the Oakley Place in Greenville.
He was born on July 3, 1936, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Walter and Anna Richardson.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Alice J. (Weaver) Richardson, whom he married on July 7, 1962, and passed away on September 9, 2010; and his siblings, Walter Richardson, Margaret Devor, Clara Miller, and Amelia Swain.
Ron is survived by his children, Tammy (Marty) Grow and Dean (Tracey) Richardson; his grandchildren, Melissa (Richard) Miller, Dustin (Brandi) Grow, Nicholas Grow, Alicia (Andrew) Davidson, Ashley (Jon) Fenstermaker, Alison (Houston) Cornett; and his great grandchildren, Brittany Miller, Taylor Miller, Ashton Grow, Breonna Grow, Dalton Grow, Clayton Grow, Driver Grow, Elijah Shewmaker, Natea Davidson, Caydance Davidson, Ainsleigh Davidson, Rielynn Davidson, Jaxen Davidson, Blakely Davidson, Addison Fenstermaker, Joshua Fenstermaker, Cayson Cornett, Brinlee Cornett, and baby Hendrix Cornett on the way.
Ron was a 1956 graduate of Greenville High School. In October of 1958, Ron enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country honorably until he was discharged in July of 1960. He then worked for the City of Greenville, completing various, roles until he retired from the water treatment plant. Ron was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville.
In his free time, Ron like going sight seeing and visiting covered bridges with his wife, Alice. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Reds over the years. He especially liked watching Greenville Basketball and the Ohio State Women’s Basketball team. Ron was a diehard fan of the Greenville Lady Wave Softball team. He enjoyed going bowling and playing golf, although he spent most of the time looking and collecting the golf balls.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, with Pastor Alliyah Greaver celebrating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Guests may visit with Ron’s family on Wednesday, from 11:00 AM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM.
