Ronald V. (Ronnie) Greenhoff of Union City, Indiana passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. Ronnie was born May 31, 1936, in Darke County Ohio to Doyle and Mary (Rhoades) Greenhoff.
Ronnie graduated from Jackson Ohio High School, now Mississinawa Valley High School, in 1954. Upon graduation, he worked at the Union City Body Company before joining his father on the family farm raising turkeys and grain farming. He was a six-year member of the Ohio National Guard.
On May 7, 1961, he married Janelyn St. Myers in Union City, Indiana.
Ronnie loved spending time with his family. Anyone who knew him, knew that his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Fishing was his favorite pastime, and he made many trips to Canada over the years with his fishing buddies. After retirement, he and Janelyn spent several winters in Florida.
Ronnie was a member of Wesely United Methodist Church and was a member of the Union City Rotary Club and former member of the Union City Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife Janelyn of 63 years, two daughters Lori (Charles Priller) DeHaven of Fishers, Indiana and Lesa (Brian) Caudell of Inman, South Carolina, four grandchildren, Jessica DeHaven, Clayton Caudell, Natalie DeHaven, and Megan Caudell. Two great granddaughters Ava and Layla. One sister Jean (Don) Longfellow of Winchester, Indiana and three nephews Doug Longfellow, Steve Longfellow, and John Longfellow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Mary Greenhoff and his in-laws, Jim and Lova St. Myers.
Visitation will be Monday, June 10th from 11:00 to 1:00 with the service at 1:00 at Reichard Funeral Home, Union City, Indiana. The burial will be in Teegarden Cemetery, Ansonia, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union City Fire and Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
