Ruth L. Baker, 92 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday September 15, 2022 at 4:50 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Ruth was born February 5, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Strobel) Cook.
Ruth was a homemaker and worked at Gettysburg School and Greenville High School as a custodian. She also worked at Warren Street Market. Ruth enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett A. Baker on October 30, 2001; her son, Ted Duane Baker; her brothers, William Cook, Robert Cook, and James Strobel; her sister, Kay Weiss.
Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Pat and David Netzley of Bradford, and Pam and Howard Forthofer of Arcanum; her grandchildren, Scott (Sara) Forthofer of Dummerston, VT, Ben (Christy) Forthofer of Greenville, Mark (Kailyn) Forthofer of Springboro, Staff Sgt. Dan (Andrea) Netzley of Fort Lee, VA; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Williams of Greenville; her sister in law, Betty Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday October 1, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund.
