Sarah Ann York, 76 of Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Monday December 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio. Sarah was born June 29, 1947 in Harlan, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Fred and Betty (Hyden) York.
Sarah worked for 20 + years as a Nurse’s Aide and was also a cook in truck stops for several years. She loved to watch old movies and listen to music.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; her stillborn son Matthew York; her brothers, Troy, David, Clifford, Lee, and James York; and her sister, Mary Wolfe.
Sarah is survived by her son, John Dersham of Franklin; her grandchildren, Sophia, Hannah, Becky, Thomas, and Alexa; her siblings, Bill York of Knoxville, TN., Jake York of Greenville, Liza Cox of Fairborn, and Alice Osborne of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Bill Osborne and Pastor Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
