The Darke County Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints yesterday, August 12th, that citizens are receiving phone calls where a male caller identifying himself as an employee of the Darke County Sheriff’s Office is stating that they missed Jury Duty and now have a warrant out for their arrest. He is stating that they need to go to Walmart and purchase a money card or we will come and arrest them. The caller has given his name as David Tanner and Jason Wheatly. This is a scam! The Sheriff’s Office will never call you requesting you obtain money cards or gift cards in order to pay fines. Please be aware of the situation and do not give personal information or money to these scammers.
