Sharon Earlene Treon age 83, of Versailles passed away peacefully at 8:04 am Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Versailles Rehab & Healthcare Center Memory Care Unit.
Sharon was born March 19, 1941, in Greenville to the late Ralph & Isabelle (Cramer) Goffena. Sharon was also preceded in death by her husband, George F. Treon on November 4, 2019, whom she married September 16, 1961; son, Bernard C. Treon; granddaughter, Kerri Murphy; brother, Larry Goffena; and brother-in-law, Ron Dirksen.
Sharon is survived by her children, Frank & Jenny Treon and Kim & Terry Murphy; grandchildren, Donald & Ashley Brocious, Michael & Brittany Treon, Kelsey Treon, Thomas Murphy and William Murphy; great-granddaughter, Izzy Brocious; in-laws, Barb Goffena, David & Rosie Treon, Emma & Russ Scott and Marilyn Dirksen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sharon graduated from Ansonia High School. Sharon worked at Poultry Producers in the office, as an aide at Versailles Schools, and cooked for the Versailles Rotary Club in the St. Denis Catholic Church basement. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, Greenville Moose Lodge, and was a Past President of the Versailles Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #2347. Sharon was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, and liked to collect cookbooks.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with the Versailles Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Lodge of Sorrow service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Versailles EMS or donor’s choice.
