Sharon Vanata age 80, of Arcanum passed away peacefully at her home under the care of EverHeart Hospice on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Sharon was born August 31, 1941, in Clark County to the late Orville & Bertha Griffieth. Sharon was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ted Clark; daughter, Tiffaney (Scott) Fischer; great granddaughter, Layla Lockhart; sisters, Pat May and Judy Shivner; and brothers, Ted Griffieth and Orville Griffieth.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 40 years, Art Vanata of Arcanum; daughter, Anjanette (Angie) Clark of Vandalia; stepdaughter, Cheryl (Ryan) Riffell of Arcanum; stepson, Doug (fiancée Amber) Vanata of Madison, AL; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy (Ti-Anna) Lockhart of Arcanum, Kylie (fiancé Jonathan) Fischer of Wauconda, IL, Kaitlynn (Austen) Frech of Arcanum, Taylor Fischer, Oak Forest, IL, and Brandon Riffell of Vandalia; and 4 great grandsons.
Sharon was a longtime Legal Secretary for various lawyers throughout Arcanum and Greenville.
A private graveside service will be held in Abbottsville Cemetery with Pastor Don Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County or EverHeart Hospice in Sharon’s memory.
