Sherry Lynne Scott, 62, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on February 5, 2023 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Sherry was born on June 16, 1960 to Leonard and Nancy (Irvin) Stapleton in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from West Union High School in 1978.
She met the love of her life, Drew Scott, in Washington, DC on a 4-H trip in 1976 and they married on August 5, 1978 in West Union, Ohio. They went on to have four children, Andrew Byron, Matthew Todd, Robert (deceased), and Benjamin Quincy and were married nearly 45 years.
Sherry was a dedicated stay-at-home mother for over 20 years, then later worked as a Paraprofessional for over 20 years for Greenville City Schools. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and spending time with her family.
Sherry was predeceased by her mother, Nancy; son, Robert Scott; fathers-in-law Andrew R. Scott and Charles Moore; and sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Mike Hoskins.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Drew; father Leonard; mother-in-law Donna Moore; sons Andrew (Kara) Scott, Matthew (Nicole) Scott, and Benjamin (Brittany) Scott; grandchildren Audrey Scott, Evan Scott, Rocco, and Xavier; brother, Shawn (Tina) Stapleton; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Memorial service will be on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 12:30 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jim Morehouse officiating. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow the funeral service on Thursday at Linwood Cemetery, Russellville, Ohio.
