DAYTON, Ohio – Solvita enters the challenging Labor Day holiday period with a critical shortage of multiple blood types. Rewards for donors who help Solvita keep local hospitals supplied include gift cards at the Solvita Dayton Center during Labor Day weekend and free Ohio Renaissance Festival tickets after Labor Day.
The Solvita Anniversary Labor Day Weekend Party is Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, Aug 30-Sept. 1 at the Solvita Dayton Center, 349 S. Main St.
All registered donors get the choice of $10 gift cards, plus the Solvita long-sleeve shirt. Donors can also enjoy the free Ritter’s Frozen Custard Sundae Bar on Friday at the Solvita Dayton Center or cupcakes on Saturday and Sunday.
Solvita will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 2 but the Solvita Dayton Center will be open Sunday, Sept. 1 for special hours 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beginning after the holiday on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and continuing through Sept. 14 as supplies last, everyone who registers to donate at the Solvita Dayton Center will get a free ticket to the 2024 Ohio Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg. The Renaissance Festival operates on weekends and Labor Day from Aug. 31 to Oct. 27.

Sept. 1 is the last chance to enter the drawing to win tickets to the Nov. 3 Taylor Swift Indianapolis concert by registering to donate at any Solvita blood drive. Aug. 30 will be the first chance to enter the drawing to win two tickets to the Nov. 30 Ohio State vs. Michigan game in Columbus by registering to donate with Solvita. The drawing continues through Sept. 28.
