Steve Waymire age 73, of Ansonia passed away at 11:15 am Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
Steve was born July 1, 1951, in Greenville to the late JC & D’Arleen (Moody) Waymire. Steve was also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Austin Waymire and Karamie Bush; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Bernard & Maxine Rhotehamel; and brother-in-law, Greg Blumenstock.
Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy (Rhotehamel) Waymire whom he married February 7, 1987; sons & daughters-in-law, Todd & Sherry Waymire of Greenville and Mike & Jennifer Waymire of Arcanum; grandchildren, Alyssa & Kyle Hylton, Makayla Waymire, Noah Waymire, Magen & Lawrence Campbell, Kenny Bush, Dylan Bush, Paisley Waymire, and Hayley Penka; numerous great grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Deb & Rick Rose of Ansonia and Sandy & Danny Garber of Gordon; sister-in-law, Connie Blumenstock of Greenville; brother-in-law, Larry Rhotehamel of Troy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve retired from Union City Body Company with 43 years of service. He raised Beagles and German Shepherd dogs. Steve enjoyed rabbit hunting, harness racing, gardening, yardwork, landscaping and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Nick Good officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
