Steven Douglas Newbauer, age 78 of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of the Greenville area passed away at 2:30 AM Thursday April 21, 2022 at Oakley Place of Greenville. Steven was born March 15, 1944 in Union City, Indiana and the son of the late Herschel A. and Eileen M. (Marshall) Newbauer.
Steven was a graduate of Greenville High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the US Navy from 1965 until 1969. Following his military service, he went to work as a lineman with Dayton Power & Light Company, where he retired after 30 plus years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Rose M. Dockery, brother Michael A. Newbauer and brother-in-law Ronald D. Rice.
Steven is survived by a sister Doris A. Rice, brother Philip L. (Fonda J.) Newbauer, sister-in-law Linda K. Newbauer as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to EverHeart Hospice 1350 N. Broadway Greenville, Ohio, 45331.
The family would like to express a Special Thank-You to the staff of Oakley Place and EverHeart Hospice, both of Greenville.
