June 3, 1948 – August 21, 2022
Sue Ann (Rhoades) Mendenhall, 74, of Greenville, Ohio, was surrounded by loved ones when she took her last breath on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Everheart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, following a long battle with heart conditions.
She was born on June 3, 1948, in New Madison, Ohio, to the late Gene and Loraine (Steele) Rhoades.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Mendenhall; and her brother, Steve Rhoades.
Sue was born and raised in New Madison, graduating from New Madison High School in 1967. She lived and raised her family in Union City, Indiana. She retired to Greenville, where she spent the remainder of her life. Sue spent her life as a caregiver, nurse’s aid and in-home care provider for various facilities in Darke County. She was spunky, could be stubborn, funny at times, and would speak her mind whether you wanted her to or not. But above all, she was caring, accepting, and loved everyone deeply. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. She always went above and beyond for her loved ones.
Sue is survived by her children, Todd (April) Mendenhall of Greenville, and Tina (Maurice) Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her 12 grandchildren; her 2 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Greenville Grace Church, 4805 State Route 49 S., Greenville, Ohio 45331, with Pastor Danny Wright officiating.
Sue’s family will be receiving guests on Monday, from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Sue’s family requests memorial donations be given to Tribute Funeral Homes to help offset her final expenses.
