Sylvester F. “Bud” Meyer, 91, of Houston, formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at Wilson Health in Sidney after a brief illness. He was born February 25, 1931, in Shelby County, to the late Henry Herman and Eleanora (Gehret) Meyer. He married Jean M. (Hackemoeller) Meyer on October 22, 1952; she preceded him in death on December 6, 2005. Bud then married Pauline F. (Anthony) Clark Meyer on March 9, 2013; she survives in Houston.
He is also survived by his eleven children, Roger Meyer (Theresa Grillot) of Russia, Terry (Deb) Meyer of Covington, Steve (Roxanne) Meyer of Houston, Joyce (Tom) Grilliot of Covington, Arthur (Donna) Meyer of Covington, Connie (Jeff) Cain of Troy, Sharon (Ken) Luebke of Fort Loramie, Mark (Hortencia) Meyer of Springfield, Shirley (Greg) Arnett of Covington, Gary (Buffy) Meyer of Sidney, and James (Charlotte) Meyer of Houston; sisters Mary Margaret Fullenkamp and Leola Hoying, both of Russia; 37 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; Pauline’s children, Bill (Mitzi) Clark of Houston, Jeff (Sue) Clark of Bradford, Deb (Bill) Clason of Covington, and their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, John & Marcella Meyer, Ray & Lois Meyer, Clarence & Ruth Ann Meyer, infant Rita Meyer, Marcella & Robert Tebbe, Henry Fullenkamp, Francis Hoying; and grandsons Wes Meyer and Arliss Clark.
Mr. Meyer grew up near Russia, attended Russia School, and was a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #15424, Covington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 23, at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Covington. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.
