May 9, 1964 – January 25, 2023
Tammy Lynn Garland, 58, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born on May 9, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, to David (Carolyn) Long of Greenville, and the late Linda (Jones) Flory.
In addition to her mother, Tammy was preceded in death by her grandson, Draven Garland; and her brothers, Bryan and Darin Long.
Tammy was loving, caring, selfless and had a fun sense of humor. She always tried to help anyone in need. She attained an associate degree as a medical assistant and accumulated several other certificates and accomplishments. She worked for many years for Ludy’s Greenhouse, performing any task set before her. She taught herself calculus and was very proud of designing and building greenhouses.
Tammy had numerous hobbies and interests. She loved music, especially Elvis and Neil Diamond, she loved to crochet and take pictures. She was a Bengals fan, and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She had a hunger for Egyptian history and delved deeply into family history and traced it on Ancestry.com. She was able to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and an amazing storyteller of “old times”.
Her greatest love and accomplishment were her family. She adored her children, and her grandchildren were her life. She was the special light around which her family gathered. Her warmth and gravity will be missed.
In addition to her father, Tammy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tim Garland, whom she married on November 24, 1989; her children, Matthew (Cayla) Garland of Pitsburg, Ohio, Corey (Jessica) Garland and Ryan Garland, both of Solon Springs, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Danica, Lillian, and Julian Garland, Blake Curtis, Kaylynn, Adylynn, Lana and Gabriel Garland. Tammy also leaves behind her sister, Shannon (Jason) Smith of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
