The Darke County Animal Shelter has 2 new dogs available for adoption. For 3 other dogs (“long-time” residents), 1/2 of the adoption fess have been sponsored.
They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.
The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645

Sammie came to us as a stray so our knowledge about him is very limited, and what we do know is ONLY from what we have observed here at the shelter. We believe Sammie is 8-year-old intact male Terrier Mix. Sammie knows how to sit, shake, love to play with toys and eat treats! Sammie doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter and is learning to walk on a leash. Sammie did great for his nail trim and exam where is weighed in at 44 lbs.
Bobby came to us as a stray so our knowledge about him is very limited, and what we do know is ONLY from what we have observed here at the shelter. We believe Bobby is a 1 1/2 -year-old, intact male Mastiff Mix. Bobby loves treats and really enjoys being outside where he can play ball. Bobby is learning to walk on a leash and doesn’t seem mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Bobby did great for his bath and exam where he weighs in at 57 lbs.
Suzy Q came to us as a stray so our knowledge about him is very limited, and what we do know is ONLY from what we have observed here at the shelter. We believe Suzy Q is 8-year-old female Terrier Mix. Suzy Q is a very sweet girl who loves attention and treats. Suzy Q knows how to sit, shake and loves to play with toy. Suzy Q doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter and loves everyone. Suzy Q did great for her exam where she weighs in at 44 lbs.
