But crowning the new King was not all that happened during the Kings Week. Let’s start at the beginning.
The Double Down Duels, the inaugural event for Kubota High Limit Racing, saw two winners and with that two drivers who took a $12,000 check home that night.
In the Group A A-Feature, Logan Schuchart eventually crossed the finish line first. Most of the race he fought with Sweet and Peck for the leading position but at the end Donny Schatz came from starting position 8 and almost caught Logan Schuchart. The TOP 5: 1S-Logan Schuchart; 2. 15-Donny Schatz; 3. 49-Brad Sweet; 4. 13-Justin Peck; 5. 39M-Anthony Macri.
In the Group B A-Feature, Giovanni Scelzi was the big winner, followed by 57-Kyle Larson on second place. ; 7BC-Tyler Courtney finished 3rd, 2-David Gravel finished 4th and 5-Spencer Bayston completed the TOP 5.

On day 2 of the Kings Week, David Gravel wins the Joker’s Jackpot race and with that a $100,000 check. And like the day before at the Group A A-Feature Donny Schatz finished second, making him $25,000. Brad Sweet came in third and earned him a $15,000 check. Justin Peck, finishing 4th could take a $12,500 check home and Rico Abreu still earned $10,000 for this race.

The Knight Before saw a battle between Rico Abreu and David Gravel for the win and the $25,000 check – and the audience’s clear favorite, Rico Abreu, won this battle and crossed the finish line first. Donny Schatz again showed a great race. He started from position 25 and finished 4th. The TOP 5: 1. 24-Rico Abreu; 2. 2-David Gravel; 3. 1S-Logan Schuchart; 4. 15-Donny Schatz; 5. 7BC-Tyler Courtney.

And then… THE DAY… The 41st Kings Royal!
A $175,000 check waiting for the winner – and, of course the title “King”. King of the Eldora Kingdom! The still reigning king Donny Schatz had 3 great nights! 2 second places, one 4th place coming from starting position 25. Would he be able to keep the crown and the title? He sure was one of the favorites!
At the Kings Royal, Donny started from position 20. But just like in “The Knight Before” race, he fought his way through the field and took the lead in lap 31. Could he win? Could he keep the title and the crown? It was close, but David Gravel was able to pass Donny just 2 laps later and was on his way to eventually become the new King. The TOP 5: 1. 2-David Gravel; 2. 15-Donny Schatz; 3. 13-Justin Peck; 4. 1S-Logan Schuchart; 5. 1A-Jacob Allen;
