The engines roared to life and the thrill of dirt racing electrified the atmosphere as Eldora Speedway kicked off its season with the highly anticipated 43rd DTWC for Modifieds & Super Stocks on Saturday, April 27th. OK, to be precise – it was the first race that actually took place in this season. The race at the Solar Eclipse weekend had to be cancelled because of too much rain.
With a purse of $10,000 awaiting the victor in the Modifieds category and $1,500 up for grabs in the Super Stocks division, the drivers vied for glory on the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway.
As the green flag waved, drivers pushed their machines to the limit, navigating the challenging track. A few red-flag phases punctuated the race, adding an extra layer of drama and suspense to an already exhilarating event.
In the Super Stocks category, Jeremy Creech (who also won his heat) emerged triumphant, piloting his #17 car to victory. Second was car #1M-Jeff Matheny, third car #28V-Shawn Valenti, fourth #28-Shaun Smith and car #21D-Doug Drown completed the TOP5 with the fifth place.
Meanwhile, in the Modifieds division, it was Ryan Thomas who etched his name into the annals of Eldora Speedway history, claiming the checkered flag in his #T9 car. Finishing second was Jonathan Taylor in car #5, third was car #35-David Stremme, forth Dillon Nusbaum in car #17N and Tyler Carpenter with car “OK” completed the TOP5
For drivers and fans alike, the event served as a reminder of the unparalleled excitement and camaraderie that define the world of dirt track racing.
