FEBRUARY 21, 1941 – SEPTEMBER 14, 2023
Thomas Randolph Mikesell, 82 of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Thursday September 14, 2023, at 5:54 PM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born February 21, 1941 at the family home on Harrison Road, New Madison, Ohio, the son of the late Lewis Ellsworth and Irma Irene (Spencer) Mikesell.
Tom started working at Greenville Sears at the age of 18, he left for 2 years of Military service in the United States Army where he served in Alaska as an MP. After his military service, he returned to Sears and worked in the Greenville store until it closed. Tom loved spending time with his family, fishing, and birdwatching.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bradley, Harvey, Lloyd, Larry, Joe, and Sam; and his sister, Martha Jane Herron.
Tom is survived by his wife, Joyce (Powers) Mikesell of Ansonia; his children and spouses, Janell and Jeff Rismiller, and Brian and Teresa Mikesell; his grandsons, Jacob and Maegen Rismiller, Jedd Rismiller, Jeremy Rismiller, Ian Mikesell, Jonah Mikesell, and Colin Mikesell; his bonus grandsons, Zach and Megan Keller, Seth and Allie Keller; his great grandchildren, Alice and Jack Rismiller; and his bonus great grandchildren, Scarlet and Hazel Keller.
There will be a private Celebration of Life at the Ansonia American Legion. Burial with Veterans Services will be held at Old Teegarden Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
