Thomas “Tom” L. Heindl, 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 11, 1938, to the late Louis and Frances (Evilsizor) Heindl.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Fletcher) Heindl; his brother and sister-in-law, Louis “Cork” and Evelyn Heindl; and his beloved dogs, Vincent and Sammi Jo.
Tom was a long-time member of the Greenville Moose Lodge 329, and the Greenville Elks Lodge 1139. He loved watching his grandkids play sports, umpiring baseball games, playing cards, and going to the casino. Tom had quite the reputation for being a great story teller and master bullshitter. He always looked forward to his and Shirley’s annual house boating trips to Lake Cumberland with their friends. He enjoyed sports, watching and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will surely miss his laugh and infectious smile.
Tom is survived by his children and their spouses, Pamela and Erick Moore of Arcanum, and Todd Heindl of Greenville; his granddaughter and her husband, Kelli and Corey Thompson of Arcanum; his step granddaughter, Alicia New of Arcanum; his great grandchildren, Cyanna New, Ayanna New, Braelee Thompson, Audrey Thompson, and Blaze Thompson; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Ken Baker, and Patricia and Garry Fourman, all of Arcanum; and his best friend, Larry Paul of Greenville.
A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Tony Price officiating.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM, at the funeral home.
