Three-vehicle crash after failing to yield the right of way.

On April 14, 2025 at approximately 5:31 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue and Pitsburg Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 49 and Grubbs-Rex Road in reference to an injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2019 Hyundai Tucson was traveling northwest on State Route 49 and attempted to turn west (left) onto Grubbs-Rex Road. The driver of the Hyundai failed to yield the right of way to a 2018 Toyota Rav-4 which was traveling southeast on State Route 49. After the initial collision, the Hyundai spun into a 2025 Peterbilt 337 which was stationary facing east on Grubbs-Rex Road.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Miles Hartzell (42) of Greenville, Ohio

The driver of the Peterbilt was identified as Stephen Lamb (41) of West Milton, Ohio.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as Suzette Ferguson (27) of Richwood, Ohio.

Ms. Ferguson was transported to Wayne Healthcare by Arcanum Rescue to be treated for minor injuries. Ms. Hartzell was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way when turning left.
