The Darke County Animal Shelter has 3 new dogs available for adoption.
They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.
The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645.
Mary came to us as an owner surrender. We have been told Mary is a 7-year-old female Mountain Cur Mix. Mary’s owner told us that she did great with other dogs, didn’t seem to mind cats and had never had her around kids. Mary does come back when called. Mary is a very playful girl who just loves to be outside so she can roll in the grass or be on your lap. Mary has shown us she knows how to sit and is treat motivated! Mary is learning to walk on a leash. Mary doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Mary weighs in at 28 lbs. and did great for her examChubb came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. We have been told Chubb is an 11-month-old intact male Great Pyrenees/ Mastiff Mix. Chubb did great with the kids he was around whose ages are 3, 5, 12 and 17 years old. Chubb likes to chase cats and was good with the other dog in the home. Chubb is housebroken and does good in the car, and he likes to go for walks. Chubb likes to run, play with toys, chase after balls and play tug of war! We are told Chubb knows basic commands. Chubb has shown us here he knows how to sit, loves attention and likes treats! Chubb walks well on a leash and doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Chubb weighs in at 89 lbs. and did great for his bath and examBalto came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own, unfortunately Balto’s owner was heading to collage and could not take him with him! We have been told Balto is a 4-year-old neutered male Husky Mix. Balto’s owner told us that he was great with 13 year old he was around, dogs and has never been around cats. Balto is housebroken and crate trained. Balto is a very sweet, loving boy who loves to talk to you, like Huskies normally do! Balto likes to go for car rides, and to play with other dogs! Balto has shown us he knows how to sit, play fetch with a ball and a rope toy and will come when called. Balto walks well on a leash and doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Balto weighs in at 40 lbs. and did great for his bath and exam
