Tsakania “Tas” Goodpaster, 63, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on November 13, 1959, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Charles and Mildred “Betty” (Gossitt) Goodpaster.
In addition to his parents, Tas was preceded in death by his baby sister, Jeannie Flynn; his sister, Cynthia Barber; his brothers, Mark Goodpaster, and Tyrone Goodpaster; and his nephew Michael Brooks.
Tas was a 1977 graduate of Union High School in Modoc, Indiana, where he forged and has managed to maintain several long-lasting friendships throughout the years. He had many interests and hobbies. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and off-roading. He loved taking his son cruising on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, going to auctions, collecting antiques, and watching NASCAR.
Tas is survived by his children, Chassidy (Matthew Harrison) Holland of Portland, Indiana, Belinda Goodpaster of New Castle, Indiana, and Shawn Penkal/Goodpaster of Greenville; his grandchildren, Thomas (Taylor Fraizure) Walk II of Portland, Autumn Yohe of Portland, Noah (Lee Segial) Harrison of Winchester, Indiana, Adrian Holland of Portland, McKayla Current of Anderson, Indiana, and Gaven Combs of Anderson; his great grandchildren, Dakken, Kaylou, Thomas III, River, and Anna. Tas also leaves behind his sister, Camillia Pflum of Richmond, Indiana; and 6 nieces and 3 nephews.
Tas’ family will be receiving guests for a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville campus, with family and friends officiating. All who attend are encouraged and welcome to say a few words as well. Burial, at Greenville Union Cemetery, will follow at the convenience of the family.
Following the services, a gathering of family and friends will be held to continue celebrating Tas’ life and accomplishments. More information will be available at the funeral for anyone wishing to attend.
