DAYTON, Ohio – “I am a Buckeye fan!” declared Union City donor Krista Hoggatt when she learned she had won the Solvita donor drawing for two tickets to “The Game,” Ohio State vs. Michigan on Nov. 30 in Columbus.
Everyone who registered to donate Aug. 30 through Sept. 28 at any Solvita blood drive was automatically entered in the drawing. The campaign registered 7,177 donors, including 6,368 donations and 934 first time donors.
Krista entered the drawing when she registered to donate Sept. 25 at the Mississinawa Valley High School Blood drive. She is a speech therapist at Mississinawa, and this is her 32nd year working with the Darke County Educational Service Center.
“I had scheduled an appointment because I was here on my normal day,” said Krista, who has donated frequently at Mississinawa. She made her first donation at the Ansonia vs. Mississinawa Valley FFA Grudge Match Blood Drive in 2021 and now has 12 lifetime donations.
“There might be a fight for them,” she said about deciding who will accompany her to “The Game” on Thanksgiving weekend. “It might be my husband, and I have three girls.”
