V. Ellen Doss age 79, of Greenville passed away at 2:42 pm Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville.
Ellen was born April 30, 1943, in Darke County to the late Leonard L. Baker & Glenna Mae (Cross) Sharp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee “Bobby” Doss on April 3, 2012, whom she married January 15, 1963; son, Timothy Doss; step grandson, Marcus Lee Thompson; brothers, Jerry L. Baker & Jackie Baker in infancy; and her little dog, Sandy.
Ellen is survived by her children, Sharri (Donnie) Klingensmith of Greenville, Brenda (Doug) Burns of Arcanum and Robert Lee (Ernie) Doss III of Dayton; step daughter, Cindy (Lee) Blank of Wapakoneta; grandchildren, Mandi (Eric) Harshbarger, Danny (Cait) Beisner, Jake (Destiny) Doss, Jessi Doss, Josh (Kerri) Burns, Ryan (Mallory) Burns and Logan (Tarah) Burns; step grandchildren, Rich (Hollie) Thompson, Kyle (Sosha) Klingensmith, Kendal (Ashton) Klingensmith, Kass (Rob) Kasperski and Kam (Dam) Klingensmith; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard S. Baker of Greenville and Ronnie L. (Barb) Baker of Brookville; sister, Linda L. Drew of New Madison; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ellen was a homemaker and later retired from the YMCA Child Watch in Greenville where she worked for 18 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Greenville. Ellen was a former member of the Greenville YMCA and the Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting angel and cardinal figurines.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
