Vicky J. Henderson age 65 of Ansonia received her Angel Wings at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center of Greenville, on Tuesday April 27, 2021.Vicky was born in Greenville , Ohio on July 11, 1955 to the late Ronnie and Naomi (Stump) Riffle. She was the eldest of three children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Mother and Father-in-law George and Virginia Henderson and Brother-in-law Rick Henderson.
Vicky is survived by her husband Gary whom she married on December 4, 1971. Their children Tammy and Steve Hufford of Troy, Travis Henderson and Norma Garland of Ansonia; grandchildren Alyssa Henderson, Taylor Stookey and Jared Niekamp, Madison Stookey and Seth Griffith, and Emma Henderson; great granddaughter Charlotte Niekamp; sister Nancy and Rick Moody; brother Dennis and RuthAnn Riffle and sister-in-law Carol and Charlie Baughman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle and aunts.
In 2019, she retired from Wayne Hospital of Greenville as the Social Worker, a position she held for 38 years. Many people had the opportunity to meet and work with Vicky over the many years at the hospital. She began her career at the Brethren’s Home in the Activities Department until she graduated from Edison College with her Associate Degree and started her social work career. She also had worked at Comprehensive Health Network of Greenville (a home health agency) when the company was first started. Vicky served on the Darke County Cancer Board for over 20 years, Fame board for some time and helped start the SANE program. There are numerous other organizations she served during her career but too many to mention.
She enjoyed her yard work, watching her HGTV programs, cleaning her house but most importantly spending time with her family. She above all loved helping others.
A Celebration of Vicky’s Life will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday May 2, 2021 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Father Matt Feist officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until time of the services in the funeral home. The Celebration Service will be Lived Streamed on Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Facebook page at 6:00 PM.
