AUGUST 17, 1928 – SEPTEMBER 18, 2024
Virgie A. Armstrong, aged 96, passed away in Brookville, Ohio on September 18, 2024. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 17, 1928 to the late Earl and Pearl (Erbaugh) Smith. She married Paul Armstrong in 1948 who passed in 2001. Also preceding her in death was her beloved daughter, Sandra, in 2007.
She is survived by her son, Neal (Jackie) and step-granddaughter (Jamie Dionne) and step-great granddaughter Charlotte in Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandson Matt (Jamie) France and their two daughters, Katerina and Sophia in Mount Vernon, Ohio; son-in-law John France of Columbus and sister Margaret Porter in Brookville, Ohio, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was employed by Hobart and Whirlpool as an HR assistant for thirty-two years, and was known for her love of the outdoors, her flowers, vigorous regular exercise, and most of all her love of her Savior whom she adored.
In keeping with her wishes, she desired no viewing or memorial of any sorts, so none will be given. She asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to organizations such as Wounded Warriors or Tunnels 2 Towers.
