Virginia C. Henderson age 101, of Greenville passed away at 7:47 PM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.
Virginia was born March 5, 1920, in Darke County to the late James & Pearl (Beck) Shuttleworth. In addition to her parents, Virginia is also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Henderson; brothers, Orville, Robert, Lowell and Roscoe Shuttleworth; and sisters, Opal Tegtmeyer, Arlene Westfall and Betty Lippert.
Virginia is survived by her children, Dan (Nancy) Henderson of Sidney and Carol (Keith) Yount of Union; grandchildren, Gina Roberts, Ty (Holly) Yount, Lori (Mike) Study and Christian Henderson; and great grandchildren, Morgan Roberts, Jocelynn Clark, Eavy Clark and Harlow Yount.
Virginia retired in 1982 from the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville where she was a social worker. She was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the Greenville Church of the Brethren 421 Central Ave. Greenville with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery in Pitsburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Church of the Brethren or Hospice of Miami County.
